The NFL playoff picture saw one team exit and another enter after the Thanksgiving day football games where the Steelers beat the Colts. The Steelers took the lead in the AFC North and so they would become the fourth seed in the playoffs if they started today. The Ravens were in that spot before.
This is notable for the Chiefs as the fifth seed because they would play that fourth seed. I would prefer to travel to Baltimore and play the Ravens rather than to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers. The Chiefs last trip to Pittsburgh was ... ugly.
There’s still time for the Raiders to blow it but they do lead the division by one game and are the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
There aren’t many interesting Wild Card contenders not listed here other than maybe the Dolphins. The Chiefs and Broncos are a better team than Miami so I would be surprised if the Dolphins beat anyone out for a Wild Card spot.
Here’s the AFC playoff picture (and a link to the NFC playoff picture):
- Raiders (8-2)
- Patriots (8-2)
- Texans (6-4)
- Steelers (6-5)
- Chiefs (7-3)
- Broncos (7-3)
