The Chiefs have proven in three and a half years under Andy Reid that these are the games they win. They usually beat who they should (outside of a Tennessee-like game once a year). This is a game they should win as 7-point favorites in front of their home crowd.
The Chiefs defense is on a roll. If they win, it’s probably the defense they’ll ride to victory. The Chiefs are terrific at creating turnovers on defense (22) and avoiding them on offense (8). That’s a tough combination, even when you consider how boring the Chiefs are. Plus-16 is the best turnover differential in the league.
Spencer Ware should have a good day. He can run on the Bucs defense. If the Chiefs can get a healthy lead in the first half, they can ride Spencer Ware against the 25th ranked run defense. The Chiefs themselves are a better rushing team than the stats indicate (27th).
I’m predicting a Chiefs win. I don’t usually predict the Chiefs to win by more than one score because most games in the NFL are close but this feels like a solid win for the good guys.
