Chiefs injury report has good and bad news for Bucs week

The Kansas City Chiefs have a ton of injuries to start Tampa Bay Buccaneers week. Let’s start with the good news before hitting the bad. LB Justin Houston was a full participant in practice for the first time this year. That’s pretty exciting and a strong indication that the Chiefs are preparing him to play this weekend against Tampa Bay.

Additionally, CB DJ White was a full participant in practice after missing the last couple weeks with a hand injury. LB DJ Alexander was a full participant which is good news for the Chiefs special teams and CB Phillip Gaines was limited.

Now for the bad. The Chiefs had six players who did not practice. Seven if you include LS James Winchester, who is back home with his family after the death of his father.

These Chiefs did not practice:

LB Tamba Hali (knee)

DE Jaye Howard (hip)

LB Derrick Johnson (hamstring)

WR Jeremy Maclin (groin)

CB Marcus Peters (hip)

DT Dontari Poe (knee)

Tamba, DJ, Poe and Peters are probably going to be OK. Andy Reid sounded like he was just being cautious with them. Howard and Maclin both missed last week so there’s some concern there, especially Maclin. This is the part where I talk about how important it is to get these guys back ... and then I remember that they keep winning even with all these injuries. So we’ll see.
