We’ve spent the week talking about Eric Berry’s value to the Kansas City Chiefs and it seems that value is noticeable beyond Kansas City too. The NFL has announced their AFC players of the week and included is Eric Berry, who was named the AFC defensive player of the week.

Berry finished Sunday’s game against the Panthers with nine tackles, two passes defensed and an interception returned for a touchdown. He got a pretty good lick on Cam Newton too. The Chiefs don’t win that game in Carolina without Berry’s interception and return. The Chiefs also talked about Berry taking a leadership role in the locker room at halftime as the team was down 17-3. The Chiefs came back to win, 20-17.
