Andy Reid spoke to the media on Monday afternoon and said that if Justin Houston can play then he’ll play without getting too specific. By Monday evening when Reid joined the Chiefs Kingdom radio show, he characterized Houston’s chances of playing as “pretty good”.
“There’s a chance, probably a pretty good chance I would say,” Reid said. “I know he wants to play like crazy. He just has to get out there and work it and see where we’re at. He finished the week strong which was great. He felt good today. I was able to talk with (trainer) Rick (Burkholder) and Rick talked to him this afternoon. He’s feeling pretty good. I think he looks forward to just getting out there and seeing when he gets in the first group there that he’s moving around OK and then we’ll be able to determine from there.”
Before we go ahead and declare Houston is playing we should remember that many of us thought the way the Chiefs were talking last week that he would play and he didn’t. It’s no guarantee but this is the best we’ve felt about him playing in a game. At home against a team you’re a touchdown favorite on makes more sense than on the road against the defending NFC champs.
