The Kansas City Chiefs were down 17-6 and needed a turnover to stay in the game against the Carolina Panthers. The Chiefs sent the house at Cam Newton and he threw off his backfoot, which led to ... AN ERIC BERRY INTERCEPTION!
This was an incredible play for so many reasons.
The Chiefs pass rush doing their job and forcing Cam to throw off his backfoot. That’s where this goes wrong for Carolina. It’s a bad throw.
Berry being in place to make the pick and actually making the play. It’s a small thing but defensive backs often drop those.
Berry’s return. He was a great kick returner at Tennessee and this shows you why. He was holding the ball out not quite secure enough for me but didn’t fumble. He then made that spin move to get away from the pile and get into the open field.
