Sounds like Justin Houston will play vs. Texans: 'We're going to Houston and taking Houston with us'

It's a pretty good bet that the Kansas City Chiefs will have Justin Houston in the NFL playoffs this weekend against the Houston Texans. Chiefs coach Andy Reid said on the Chiefs Kingdom show on 810 WHB on Monday night that Houston will be playing when the Chiefs visit ... um, Houston.

Here's the exchange between Mitch Holthus and Andy Reid on the radio show:

Holthus: You had Tamba Hali back yesterday. What about his availability for the Texans and then I have to bring up Justin Houston. How much of a chance is there J-Hou will play in Houston?

Reid: We're going to Houston and we're taking Houston with us. We gotta play him, don't we? He's gotta go and do his thing. Right?

Holthus: Absolutely. Best news we've heard all night.

This is a pretty relaxed interview each week with Holthus, the voice of the Chiefs, so when I first saw Reid's quote on Twitter I wondered if it was just Reid making a Houston joke. After listening to it, Houston is going to play.

Even without this hint from Reid it was a pretty good bet that Houston would play. He practiced on Friday last week and has already missed five weeks of action for an injury some smart people thought could cost him four weeks.

It's important that Houston plays because the Chiefs also have a potentially concussed Dee Ford while Tamba Hali is only a couple weeks removed from thumb surgery.
