More good news on Jeremy Maclin? I wouldn't say this is bad news....
The Chiefs Kingdom radio show hosted by Mitch Holthus had Andy Reid on Monday night where he was of course asked about Jeremy Maclin's injury. Big Red said something I found interesting about the severity of Maclin's ankle injury (emphasis mine).
"We all thought ACL," Reid said on the radio show last night. "I sat there and watched the doc do the examination on him. I've had a couple knee surgeries myself. I've seen a lot of those tests done. Man it looked like that's what it was. It wasn't which was a good thing. Our doc is on top of it. He located it in the ankle, kind of a high ankle sprain. It doesn't look like it's one of those real nasty ones but we'll see, we'll see how he progresses through the week."
No, this doesn't tell us whether Maclin will play but i would sure as hell rather hear it's not a nasty one than it is a nasty one, right? Maclin is such a gamer that if it's at all reasonable for him to play he probably will. However, the problem with an injury to a receiver is that you can't really gut it out. Either you can move and cut fast enough or you can't.
I think we can all assume here that Maclin won't be 100 percent. Will he be healthy enough to play some sort of role in this game? Got a feeling this one is coming down to game time.
