One surprise on the Kansas City Chiefs roster cuts was the trade of safety Kelcie McCray to the Seattle Seahawks. Per Adam Schefter, it's for a fifth round pick.
Seattle traded a 5th-round pick to KC for safety Kelcie McCray. Seahawks needed safety help.

Let's re-trace this trade:
2013: The Chiefs signed former Seahawks G Rishaw Johnson
2014: Chiefs trade G Rishaw Johnson to the Bucs for S Kelcie McCray
2015: Chiefs trade S Kelcie McCray to the Seahawks for a fifth round pick
So basically the Chiefs got a fifth round pick for a guy off the street. Or as our pal Danny over at Field Gulls puts it:
Seahawks got McCray, who backed up former Seahawk Ron Parker, who the Chiefs got for former Seahawk Rishaw Johnson

The Chiefs potentially would have cut McCray because they are so deep at safety. He is a good player I wish the Chiefs could keep but the Chiefs already have two former Pro Bowlers on the second team at safety (Eric Berry, Tyvon Branch).
The benefits of being a deep team....
