In what is probably the only Kansas City Chiefs roster cut so far we can call a surprise, the Chiefs have cut C Eric Kush, according to the KC Star's Terez Paylor.
The #Chiefs have released center Eric Kush, a source tells me.

I pegged Kush as a bubble player recently when Zach Fulton played some center so it's not a total shocker. When Andy Reid said that Fulton played well, it was a sign to me that the Chiefs could keep Fulton, who could contribute at guard AND center, over Kush, who has only played center in the NFL.
Kush lined up as the Chiefs first team center for all of the offseason leading into training camp. After the first few days of camp, rookie Mitch Morse took that center job and hasn't looked back.
This may not be the end of Kush in Kansas City, however. There is a rule that allows players with two years of service to be on the practice squad and I would not be surprised to see Kush land there. Stay tuned.
