Broncos' DeMarcus Ware fined for hit on Alex Smith, Von Miller not fined

There were a couple of fines in last Thursday's game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos. Von Miller was not one of those players fined.

There was a play in the second quarter of the game last week where the ball was snapped but the officials immediately blew it dead. Pretty much everyone stopped in time except for Miller who continued to run into Alex Smith. He was flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play but he was not fined, according to the league office.

Who was fined is DeMarcus Ware. He went low on a hit on Alex Smith and was flagged on the play. According to the NFL, that's a $17,363 fine for Ware. It actually is a dangerous play, as you can see in the screen grab below, so I can see why they want it outlawed.

ESPN reports that Broncos DE Malik Jackson was fined $8,681 for a late hit on Jamaal Charles.
