Chiefs' Marcus Peters up for rookie of the week

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports
Kansas City Chiefs CB Marcus Peters picked off a pass in his first career snap and now he looks to get a rookie of the week award in his very first game.

The NFL has voting on the rookies of the week here, including Peters, who had three passes defensed and that interception, which set the Chiefs up for their first touchdown of the day. Peters is a rookie so he had his low moments against the superb DeAndre Hopkins but most of us realize the future is bright for him.

The other candidates.

Titans QB Marcus Mariota: Mariota completed 13 of 16 passes for 209 yards and four touchdowns in the Titans' 42-14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bills DB Ronald Darby: Darby had six tackles, two passes defensed and an interception in the Bills' 27-14 win over theIndianapolis Colts.

Chargers LB Kyle Emanuel: Emanuel recorded three tackles, a sack and an interception in the Chargers' 33-28 win over theDetroit Lions.

Lions RB Ameer Abdullah: Abdullah had seven carries for 50 yards (7.1 avg.) and a touchdown and added four catches for 44 yards against the San Diego Chargers.
