Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce took a huge hit on a pass across the field and left the field with trainers.
Alex Smith was being pressured and stepped up in the pocket to avoid the rush. Smith threw the ball to Kelce who was streaking across the field. As Kelce caught the ball, Texans DB Kevin Johnson drilled Kelce on his right side. Kelce bounced off him, held onto the ball and made it a few more yards before being taken down.
Kelce stayed on the ground for a few minutes while Chiefs trainer Rick Burkholder tended to him. He then moved to the bench area where two more people were taking a look at him.
We'll update when we know more.
UPDATE: Kelce has returned. Whew.
Kelce is back in the game but we’re told he had an abdomen injury (when he was down).
