Texans' Arian Foster won't be running wild on the Chiefs run defense in Week 1

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

One of my favorite NFL people to follow, Rotoworld's Evan Silva, had this to say earlier about the Kansas City Chiefs Week 1 game vs. the Houston Texans.

And then shortly after that, this news:

A "true foundation player" for the Texans, Arian Foster's injury will sting bad. Remember when the Chiefs lost Dwayne Bowe in Week 1 a few years ago? And then Tamba Hali after that? This is like that but worse.

I've been worried about the Chiefs run defense entering this year and the loss of Dontari Poe didn't help that. The Chiefs will probably struggle against the run. You don't lose your best linemen and suddenly get better against the run. The return of Derrick Johnson and Mike DeVito will help but Poe probably offsets that. The Chiefs may be bad against the run but their chances in Week 1 just got a lot better.

Random note about the Foster injury: Joe McKnight is one of the backs the Texans are looking at working out to replace him.
