The Chiefs have a couple of receivers injured (Chris Conley, Junior Hemingway) so they need a body.
Washington, listed at 6'4 and 200 pounds, will have a long ways to go to make the roster. Since entering the league as a 2014 undrafted free agent he has spent time with six teams. The Chiefs are his seventh. He has no career catches.
The Chiefs have a few locks at receiver including Jeremy Maclin, Albert Wilson, De'Anthony Thomas and Chris Conley. Jason Avant probably makes it. So the rest of these receivers are competing for one, maybe two spots. Considering he's coming into training camp late, that's a tough task for Washington to accomplish. He'll need to show up during the preseason.
