Chiefs roster cuts: TE Adam Schiltz has been released

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

I was curious why TE Adam Schiltz didn't see any snaps in the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Tennessee Titans on Friday. And now we see why:

As Herbie Teope of Chiefs Digest notes, Schiltz was on the practice squad last year. He is someone the Chiefs could be calling in the middle of the season if an injury were to occur.

The Chiefs will be cutting their roster down to 75 players by September 1. The roster will be trimmed to the final 53 on September 5 which will be followed by the creation of the 10-man practice squad.

Travis Kelce and James O'Shaughnessy are locks at tight end. Ryan Taylor has been seeing increased snaps so he's my pick for the third tight end depending on what happens with injured Demetrius Harris.
