Jordy Nelson's injury will affect Chiefs-Packers game in Week 3

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

We were concerned about the Kansas City Chiefs facing the Green Bay Packers in Week 3 because the Chiefs starting cornerback Sean Smith will still be suspended.

The Chiefs caught a slight break with the unfortunate injury to Packers receiver Jordy Nelsonwho is said to have torn his ACL. If that injury report is accurate, he will miss the Chiefs-Packers game in Week 3.

This is a bonus for the Chiefs (but sucks for Jordy) because that's one less superstar receiver to cover with their top cornerback out.

That said, this injury doesn't make this all that winnable. The Packers are great because of Aaron Rodgers so I fully expect that whoever replaces him will come in and do a great job. The Packers are just a very, very good team and only one injury -- to Aaron Rodgers -- could derail them.

So the injury made things a little easier for the Chiefs ... but it's still not easy.
