Chiefs training camp: 7 things to know from Sunday's practice

The Chiefs aren't in pads yet but they finished up their second training camp practice on Sunday. The Chiefs return to the practice field on Monday morning.

1. Down goes Junior Hemingway

Tough break -- if it's anything serious. Hemingway was on the bubble to begin with so an injury that takes him off the field for a prolonged time then it's tough to see him making the roster.

2. An injury for UDFA David Irving

He's a big dude who could help. There are some questions about his past but on the field he was one of the UDFAs I thought could have a shot at making the 53-man roster, especially with the injury to Dontari Poe. Little more detail on that here.

3. Strong start to camp for Ron Parker

The whole safety situation is so much more interesting with Eric Berry back. I was pretty happy with Ron Parker's role at safety last year, and Husain Abdullah is really underrated for this defense. So where does Berry fit in?

4. Speaking of Berry ...

Terez also reports Berry saw some first team nickel work on Sunday. I'm curious to see how he comes along. There's really no precedent for this type of return. I wouldn't have even guessed that Berry would return at all this year.

5. King Carl sighting

It was Alumni Day so former Chiefs GM Carl Peterson was present. The KC Star's Blair Kerkhoff has a good story on him.

6. Eddie Kennison sighting
