Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid said the first team would play "close to a half" against the Seattle Seahawks in Friday's preseason game. Following that, the Chiefs second and third team will finish up the second half.
This will be good work for the Chiefs starters on both offense and defense because they're facing such a good team.
Offensively, the Chiefs will face one of the NFL's best defenses. If they can go down and put up a touchdown or two they have to feel good about things. The Seahawks, like the Chiefs, will be missing some players so it won't be a perfect comparison.
Defensively, I'm not sure if Marshawn Lynch will play much or at all but the Chiefs will still be getting a good offense. I wish they would be able to test that run defense on some Marshawn Lynch carries though.
As for special teams, De'Anthony Thomas has had an injured calf so if he doesn't go the Chiefs will need some punt returner help. Jeremy Maclin was doing that at practice on Wednesday but Andy Reid told the media after the game that he wouldn't be doing that on Friday against Seattle.
