Knile Davis, De'Anthony Thomas injured in Chiefs preseason game, too

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

UPDATEDetails on the injuries here.

Jeff Allen isn't the only casualty in the Kansas City Chiefs preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals. The Chiefs say that WR De'Anthony Thomas and RB Knile Davis have left with injuries, too.

DAT has a calf issue and Davis has a knee injury, according to BJ Kissel (!!!) on the broadcast.

We don't know how to react because we have no idea if this is anything serious. Losing either player wouldn't be devastating ... it would hurt the Chiefs depth more than anything. DAT has the potential of a special teams star but hasn't had a major role in the offense while Davis is the backup running back.

Charcandrick West took Knile's spot at running back. The Chiefs do like him a lot.

The loss of Allen for any length of time would be a bigger deal but DAT and Davis are nice role players that the Chiefs would prefer to have throughout the season.

We'll be updating if / when we hear anything.
