We don't know yet how long the Kansas City Chiefs quarterbacks will be playing in the first game on the 2015 NFL preseason schedule this weekend. The Chiefs will play the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday but based on Andy Reid's history we're not expecting to see Alex Smith for more than a quarter.
Below is a quick summary of how the Chiefs have handled their quarterbacks in the first week of the preseason under Andy Reid. An important distinction here is that the Chiefs do not have four quarterbacks this time around. So someone, probably Chase Daniel and Aaron Murray, will be seeing more playing time than usual.
2014 Preseason Week 1
- Alex Smith played the first quarter
- Chase Daniel played the second quarter
- Tyler Bray played the third quarter and part of the fourth
- Aaron Murray finished up with the final two drives
2013 Preseason Week 1
- Alex Smith played the first drive (it was a long drive)
- Chase Daniel played the second drive and through the first half
- Tyler Bray played the third quarter
- Ricky Stanzi played the fourth quarter
