The Kansas City Chiefs are not going to fire Andy Reid this year. But where would Big Red be ranked on a list of most likely coach firings? The bookmaker Sportsbook ran the odds on each NFL head coach being fired this year and Andy Reid ends up at No. 21 on the list.
I find the ranking on this list interesting but we all know it's meaningless. I mean, even more meaningless than power rankings. There will be a handful of NFL head coaches fired either during this year or after. Sometimes that will be because the team is so bad they can't keep winning just two games each year (see: Herm Edwards). Sometimes it's something off the field like a personality conflict between the coach and GM (see: Todd Haley). And sometimes coaches get fired after just one year because that one year was so bad (see: Romeo Crennel).
NFL head coach firings happen for all kinds of reasons. There is no reason that Andy Reid would be fired this year.
Here's the whole list of odds:
- Jay Gruden (WSH) +250
- Gus Bradley (JAX) +1800
