The NFL Network's annual top 100 wrapped up on Wednesday night which gives us the opportunity to look at how badly they got it wrong on Kansas City Chiefs LB Justin Houston.
NFL Network's poll had him at No. 27. Broken down by just the defensive players, their list is basically saying that Houston is the ninth best defensive player in the NFL. That's great, sure. But this is arguably the best outside linebacker in football. Ninth best is low.
Here's a look at how all the defensive players were ranked ahead of Houston:
1. JJ Watt

11. Richard Sherman
14. Luke Kuechly
17. Darrelle Revis
19. Patrick Peterson
21. Earl Thomas
23. Joe Haden
24. Ndamukong Suh
27. Justin Houston
Meanwhile, they seemed to get it right with running backs. While Jamaal Charles had a "down year" by his standards, he is still in his prime at 28 years old and he's still very, very good. The NFL Network's poll had Jamaal as the third best back. I can buy that.
4. DeMarco Murray
9. Marshawn Lynch
12. Jamaal Charles
