Done deal! At least according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, who reports Justin Houston has signed a six-year, $101 million deal with $52.5 million guaranteed. Whoa. This keeps Houston a Chief and on schedule for training camp.

KC's Justin Houston signed a 6-year, $101M deal that includes $52.5M GTD, richest Chiefs' deal in history, richest LB deal in NFL history.

Chiefs LB Justin Houston's new 6-year, $101 million deal also is second richest deal in NFL history behind only Ndamukong Suh's.

Huge $ for Justin Houston: $21.5M in 2015, $43m by March 2016. $52.5M total by March 2017. $32.5M full guar. $52.5m guar for injury. Wow

We debated whether Houston was worth "JJ Watt money". Turns out, the Chiefs thought he was. The move allows the Chiefs to keep their best player at a premium position when he is in his prime.
That comes out to $16.83 million per year, which makes Houston the 15th highest paid player in the NFL (based on average per year) and the second highest paid defensive player. The Chiefs had less than a million bucks in cap space so I'm assuming that this contract, when we see the breakdown, would lower his $13.1 million cap number under the franchise tag.
Meanwhile, more confirmations are coming in...
Done deal between Justin Houston and Chiefs.
