The Kansas City Chiefs duo of Justin Houston and Tamba Hali have the most combined sacks of any other duo in the NFL in the last four years. So that makes them the best pass rushing duo in the NFL, according to Justin Houston, who spoke briefly with the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer at a football camp last weekend.
"I'd say so. I think everybody should think the same way," Houston said. "I think you should think that as an NFL player, think you're the best and believe you're the best. I really do think we are."
Houston has gotten better each year while Tamba has started to hit that age where he's slowing down a little bit. The Chiefs do have Dee Ford waiting in the wings so if he works out it's possible the Chiefs will continue to have one of the best pass rushing duos in the league. That's a big IF though.
Meanwhile, there was no talk of Houston's contract in the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer piece. July 15 is the deadline for Houston and the Chiefs to reach a long-term deal but it's not expected that will happen and that Houston will continue to play the 2015 season under the franchise tender (which he still has not signed). It was reported by Jason Cole of Bleacher Report that Houston is looking for a deal similar to the $100 million deal that JJ Watt signed. However, hardly anything about these negotiations have been leaked to this point so I would be very weary of any information coming out now.
