The Kansas City Chiefs have an open roster spot after cutting two players and signing one after minicamp on Thursday.
The Chiefs signed CB Kenneth Penny after he tried out for the team during minicamp this week. The team cut G Melvin Meggs and CB DeVante Bausby.
Penny is a 5'11 undrafted free agent cornerback out of UNLV. Penny tried out for the Chiefs during their rookie minicamp in May in addition to this minicamp in June before landing a contract. Penny will have to show quite a bit to secure a spot on the 53-man roster this season.
Bausby, who is from the Kansas City area, broke his collarbone during OTAs and had surgery on the shoulder on Thursday. The Chiefs liked Bausby so I wonder if he could be back. This injury would threaten his ability to be available for the start of the season though.
Meggs, a guard from South Alabama, was signed after he tried out for the team during rookie minicamp this offseason.
The Chiefs roster now stands at 89 players, one short of the offseason maximum. Any suggestions on how the Chiefs should fill it?
