The Kansas City Chiefs made a somewhat surprising move on Tuesday by releasing WR Da'Rick Rogers. Additionally, T Kevin Palmer has been released and T Tavon Rooks has been signed.
The release of Rogers is the slight surprise here. While he wasn't a lock to make the roster by any means his raw talent drew the interest of many fans and media.
Best catch I saw today was WR Da'Rick Rogers with a one-handed grab up the seem in team work. Definitely a head-turning moment. #Chiefs

When Jeremy Maclin and Albert Wilson were hurt earlier this offseason, the Chiefs lined up Frankie Hammond and rookie Chris Conley at receiver. I thought that because of the lack of depth that Rogers had a shot to make it.
Here's an interesting observation from ESPN's Adam Teicher:
The play of rookie Chris Conley might have had something to do with Rogers' release.

The Chiefs essentially swapped tackles with the release of Kevin Palmer and the signing of Tavon Rookis, who went to Kansas State.
