Chiefs, Royals make September 28 a big day in Kansas City

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

Monday, September 28 was already a big sports day for Kansas City considering the Kansas City Chiefs were playing the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. Now we can add one more sporting event to that evening after the Royals and Cubs were rained out on Saturday.

Let's hope the Royals clinch a playoff spot early because this could create quite the dilemma for Kansas City sports fans who want to watch both. September 28 is the final week of the season so that could be a very important game for the Royals. There are only 16 NFL games so every one is huge, especially ones on national TV.

The ideal situation here would be the Royals and Cubs playing an afternoon game instead of a night game and then making the drive from Chicago to Green Bay in time for Monday Night Football. Who can we petition about that?
