Ramik Wilson already knows several Chiefs, including Aaron Murray

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Ramik Wilson already has a few familiar faces at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs fourth round pick knows several of the former Georgia players on the team, including Justin Houston, Aaron Murray and fellow 2015 draft pick Chris Conley.

"It makes me feel at home," Wilson told the media from the Chiefs rookie minicamp on Sunday. "I can go to them for anything or any of my teammates. Aaron Murray is from my home town so I've known him for years. It's great, it's something I enjoy."

Not only is Wilson familiar with those Georgia players but he says he's already met the veteran linebackers on the Chiefs, including Derrick Johnson and Josh Mauga.

"I already knew beforehand they have a Pro Bowler in Derrick and Josh is a great linebacker and the rest of the crew," Wilson said. "I've been with the vets, I met with them. We have a good relationship with them and they're helping me learn."

Wilson said that Justin Houston would come back to Georgia and tell those guys about playing in the NFL.

A few more takeaways from our chat with Wilson:

  • What can he take away from talking with Murray and Houston? "Make plays."
  • His biggest strength: Speed
  • "It's going to be crazy [playing against Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers] but it don't matter when you get on the field. I don't care who you are."
