FINALLY. The question we've all been wondering. How does Alex Smith like his balls?
Alex told KMBC's Len Jennings at a Play 60 event on Tuesday that he did not have a comment on the Tom Brady suspension nor had he seen the specifics of the DeflateGate report. Here's what he did say though:
"Quarterbacks are particular," Alex said. "As far as breaking a ball in, I've never heard a quarterback ever altering the inflation of a football but certainly some quarterbacks prefer brand new balls and some guys prefer them to be worn in a little more. It's kind of team to team, quarterback to quarterback."
"I like them right out of the box," backup QB Chase Daniel said. "That's just how I throw them. That's how I have my entire life. I just haven't paid much attention to it."
KMBC, who mentioned the city's slimmest and most handsome blogger on their morning telecast, says they'll have more from Alex on their 10 p.m. telecast.
Even though Alex has never heard of a quarterback altering footballs it doesn't mean he's safe. The wrath of Goodell can strike at any time for any reason.
