Former Chief Joe Mays drawing interest from New York Jets

Not all of the Kansas City Chiefs former players have signed someplace. Free agent linebacker Joe Mays is still available and, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Caplan, the New York Jets are interested in him.

The Chiefs appear set with Derrick Johnson and Josh Mauga on the inside. DJ is an obvious one but Mauga was signed to a three-year deal which suggests he's headed for a starting role.

Mays joined the Chiefs on a two-year deal prior to the season hoping to shore up the inside linebacker spot next to DJ. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, Mays was hurt before the season and was unable to play for half of the year. His injury, along with DJ's, led the Chiefs to playing Mauga, who earned a new contract from the Chiefs.
