The Kansas City Chiefs didn't just lose Rodney Hudson. They lost him to the Oakland Raiders. There is a difference.
Oakland isn't a very good team anymore but there is still a rivalry there and this will do a good job of adding a little spark to that rivalry with Dontari Poe lining up against Hudson twice a year for the next five years. That should be fun.
After news came out that the Chiefs planned to sign WR Jeremy Maclin when free agency opens and that Tamba Hali's contract has been re-worked meant that it was time for some news that isn't so positive. Here's how Chiefs fans reacted to the Hudson news...
The Raiders just made their OL 10 times better. Know that....

Raiders have a basic agreement in place with Kansas City's Rodney Hudson to make the soon-to-be-ex-Chief the highest paid center in the NFL.

Congrats to Rodney Hudson! Great guy. Great teammate. $9m a year can't happen to a better guy.

Rodney Hudson just got a higher average than McCoy.

Source says cap-rich Raiders are front-loading Hudson's deal ($8.9M/year over 5) big-time, in an effort to work towards the minimum spend.

Hudson is a very nice player, but $9M is outrageous. Sign Wisniewski or Myera for half the price #Chiefs

I dont care if the #chiefs had a ton of cap or no cap but you don't match a 9 mil per year offer for Rodney Hudson. NOPE

Hudson turned down $6m a year from KC during the season. Chiefs hoped to keep him. One of top OL on market.

Good for Hudson. Raiders get a good center. He stays healthy and they'll love him for years to come. Now he's an enemy tho

If you’ve spent the last 2 years developing E. Kush, I feel like you HAVE to give him a chance — if you believe in the talent. #Chiefs

Chiefs OL is in trouble. PFF Overall Grade for Rodney Hudson in 2014 was +13.0, all other OL combined -78.9.
