The good news just keeps on coming! After news came out that the Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly planning on signing Jeremy Maclin in free agency next Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Caplan has reported that Tamba Hali has restructured his contract.
#Chiefs OLB Tamba Hali has agreed to restructure his contract, according to a league source.

I can confirm @caplannfl’s report that Tamba Hali has taken a pay cut to stay with the #Chiefs in 2015.

He recently told ESPN that he was talking with the Chiefs about re-doing his contract in order to stay in Kansas City. Presumably this means Tamba is coming back to KC next year. He can still be a productive player and some team would have paid him nicely for that had he hit the market. The Chiefs keep a good pass rusher so this is a good day.
We don't know any of the details yet but all we really care about is Tamba's cap number dropping in 2015. He was scheduled to have a $12 million cap hit in the final year of his contract, which was originally a five-year, $57 million deal signed in 2011. The Chiefs could have saved $9 million by cutting him out right.
So Maclin and Tamba? Glad I didn't go to bed early!
