The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly going to sign WR Jeremy Maclin to a contract once free agency opens on Tuesday, according to a report from ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Nothing can be official until Tuesday so don't expect to hear anything from the Chiefs. But more and more NFL folks, including the KC Star's Terez Paylor, are confirming Mort's report. Maclin will be a Chief.
While the Chiefs won't officially be saying anything on this until Tuesday, Chiefs fans and media had no problem commenting. Here's what people are saying about the report Maclin is headed to Kansas City.
He will likely be the "Z" for The #Chiefs now, which is THE guy in Andy's offense. There is no learning curve. He grew up in the system.

"It's possible Maclin could slightly exceed Cobb's [$10M per year] salary" http://t.co/M7773GYpe2

In addition to Andy Reid, J. Maclin spent a lot time with Chiefs WR coach David Culley. Grew up 3 1/2 hrs from KC, went to school 2hrs away

Jeremy Maclin didn't record a touchdown in 2013, so he should fit in nicely with the Chiefs.

I'd love to see the Chiefs add another WR in the 2nd round to pair up with Maclin. Someone like Tyler Lockett or Nelson Agholor.

Jeremy Maclin to the #Chiefs should make this entire city smile.

Plays like this are what attracted the #Chiefs to Maclin: A gorgeous 69-yard TD strike http://t.co/Wyqis6uKXV

Jeremy maclin is going to the Chiefs oh my god were actually gonna be good now

Extremely frustrating to watch a 1st round draft pick pan out, but organization fails to resign... Maclin to KC, ouch. #Eagles #Chiefs

OK, Jeremy Maclin. This has to make Chiefs fans happy.

Jeremy Maclin ranked 14th on @PFF's WR list. Right ahead of AJ Green. #Chiefs #NFL #FreeAgency
— Chris Sembower (@ChrisSembower) March 9, 2015
Outside of his season lost in 2013, Jeremy Maclin has only missed 5 games over 5 seasons in his NFL career
— His Dirkness (@HisDirknesS) March 9, 2015
Jeremy Maclin gained more yards in each of his 5 seasons as a pro (excluding 2013) than any #Chiefs WR has under Andy Reid
