The details on Jeremy Maclin's 5-year, $55 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs are out.
Cap expert Joel Corry reports the full breakdown below. What we really care about are the salary cap numbers. The first year will carry just a $3.4 million cap hit, which is good news for this year's cap. After that it moves to over $12 million each year. Dwayne Bowe had a similar contract and his first year cap hit was $4 million so I figured the Chiefs could keep that number low this year with Maclin's deal.
Guaranteed: $22.5M
Signing bonus: $12 million
The details:
The $22.5M of GTD money in Jeremy Maclin's 5-year, $55M deal is a $12M signing bonus, $750k 2015 base salary & $9.75M 2016 base salary.
