Jeremy Maclin says goodbye to the Philadelphia Eagles

The former Eagle says goodbye to Philly.

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

It's a great day for Kansas City Chiefs fans as they sign a new receiver in Jeremy Maclin. Not so nice of a day for the Philadelphia Eagles who lose their leading receiver from last season.

Shortly before being announced as the newest Chief, Maclin took to his Twitter account to thank the Eagles organization.

I want to start off by thanking Mr. Lurie for giving me the opportunity to live out my childhood dream of playing in the NFL!

I also want to thank the Eagles organization and coaching staff for their love and support throughout my 6 years in Philadelphia!

To the fans, thank you all for the passion and support you had for myself and my teammates.

Finally I want to thank my teammates I had the privilege to play with during my 6 years in Philadelphia. Forming a bond with a special group of men is something nobody can take from you. Blood couldn't make us any closer. I will forever and always cherish the memories and moments I shared in Philadelphia. Philadelphia will always hold a special place in my heart!

Thank you Philly!
