John Dorsey stays busy meeting with Kansas City Chiefs free agents

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL Combine is not just about scouting the prospects in the 2015 NFL Draft. It's also a great time for GMs and agents to get together with some face to face time for existing clients. For the Chiefs, there have been several reported meetings between the front office and the agents for pending free agents.

The Chiefs list of free agents includes some notable names and GM John Dorsey did some work this week on some of those players. We don't know where negotiations stand on these players but there were reports of the Chiefs talking to the reps for Justin Houston, Ron Parker, Rodney Hudson and Josh Mauga.

Everyone knows the deal with Houston. He will be tagged if they don't work out a long-term deal sometime before the franchise tag deadline of March 2. The others are all interesting. The KC Star's Terez Paylor has reported that Parker and Hudson could both be looking at $6 million per year deals. I'm starting to resign myself to those players leaving because someone will pay them. We'll see though. The salary cap space situation makes things difficult. Mauga, who we haven't heard much about as we get closer to free agency, is reportedly talking to the Chiefs about a possible return, according to Chiefs Digest's Herbie Teope. Mauga

Here's a list of the Chiefs free agents. And below are some of the free agents reports we've seen from the Combine the past few days.

While we're here, here are the Chiefs free agents. We'll await official word from the Chiefs in case there is some contract language different than what we know of.
