2015 NFL free agents: Revisiting Kansas City Chiefs list

With the offseason officially here, let's revisit the Kansas City Chiefs 2015 NFL free agents.

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

We've already looked at the Kansas City Chiefs set to 2015 NFL free agents but now that the 2015 Super Bowl is over and it feels more like the offseason I wanted to bring them out again.

The Chiefs have 16 unrestricted free agents (listed below) to consider re-signing, along with some other restricted free agents and exclusive rights free agents (not listed here). There is one major Chiefs free agent and that is linebacker Justin Houston. Don't worry though, Chiefs fans, he's not going anywhere. GM John Dorsey already indicated Houston won't be getting out of Kansas City this year.

There's another notable free agent in center Rodney Hudson, who had a really good 2014 season. The Chiefs will have to decide what to do about Hudson. They don't want to pay big money to a center given their cap situation but they also don't want to lose arguably their top lineman after a year in which the offensive line really struggled.

There are other free agents that I would like to bring back -- if the price is right. Safety Ron Parker is one of those players who should come back if the price is right. He stepped in for Eric Berry at safety last season and did a nice job. Ryan Harris, who played right tackle, is someone else to keep an eye on. The Chiefs played Harris over Donald Stephenson all season long so that tells you what the Chiefs think about him. Safety Kurt Coleman is another "if the price is right" free agent. He's a solid role player but someone could pay him a little bit of money in free agency after a good season.

The rest of them really come with some question marks. Mike McGlynn and Jeff Linkenbach were not the answer at guard. Kevin Vickerson is a big man who takes up space but he's more of a run blocker rather than a full-time player. How much do you invest in a player like that? Chris Owens had his moments at nickel back but he also he had really bad moments. He's a toss-up on whether to brig back. The same goes for Joe McKnight who shined in his brief time on the field but finished with a torn Achilles.

I'm working on my plan for the Chiefs in free agency. Who are the guys here you would re-sign or let walk?

G Mike McGlynn

LS Thomas Gafford
