Charcandrick West played twice as many snaps (34) as Spencer Ware (17) but they ended up pretty close in the number of carries. West had nine carries for 35 yards against a tough Oakland Raiders run defense while Ware had seven carries for 26 yards in the game. Each player had two catches - West went for nine yards on those catches while Ware went for -1 yard. Ware got the goal line carry and punched one in for a touchdown, which means he had the better fantasy day.
The West-Ware split was a big question heading into this week's game against the Raiders. West broke out in the weeks following Jamaal Charles' injury while Ware broke out in just the past two weeks when West was injured. This was the first game where we were going to get an idea of how the Chiefs were going to split the snaps between them.
Also of note among the Chiefs-Raiders snap counts is that Jeff Allen had to leave the game early after starting at left guard. Allen was hurt last week and it was obvious on one play in the Raiders game that he couldn't move as well as he wanted. So the Chiefs had Donald Stephenson, usually a tackle, step in and play guard.
One more neat note here: the Raiders ran 28 more plays than the Chiefs. How impressive is it that the Chiefs were able to win this game?
