The best quarterback in the NFL is not named Alex Smith. But the best quarterback in the AFC playoffs not named Tom Brady? Now that would be Alex Smith.

The Kansas City Chiefs QB is one of the most experienced quarterbacks in the AFC playoff class. There are only four teams confirmed to me in while the Texans and Jets are hoping to clinched next week. If this is the 2016 playoff class then Smith would probably be the second best quarterback in the AFC playoffs ...

1. Tom Brady (Patriots)

2. Brock Osweiler (Broncos)

3. AJ McCarron (Bengals)

4. Brian Hoyer / Brandon Weeden (Texans)

5. Alex Smith (Chiefs)

6. Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets)

...Which seems insane to say. But it's true, right? I'll hear your Ryan Fitzpatrick arguments but give me Alex, who is a more experienced quarterback than Fitzpatrick.

Things would change in a hurry if the Colts were able to beat out the Texans in the AFC South and the Steelers were able to overtake the Jets. We'll just wait and see on that.

When I'm not sure about which two teams will win a game, my tiebreaker is to go with the better quarterback. In that scenario, the Chiefs have an argument that they're the second best team in the AFC right now. Which is why you get tweets like this...
