Justin Houston remains out for Chiefs entering Week 16

Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Tamba Hali isn't practicing so far this week and neither is Justin Houston.

The Kansas City Chiefs said that Houston will not practice on Wednesday. He continues to deal with his hyperextended knee which he suffered against the Bills in Week 12.

It was reported last week by ESPN's Adam Schefter that Houston would be out for the rest of the regular season but hope to return to the playoffs - if the Chiefs make it. Andy Reid said earlier this week that Schefter's report didn't come from them.

"That wasn't coming from us," Reid said, via quotes from the Chiefs. "We're taking it kind of day-by-day with him and seeing how it rolls there. He seems to be making progress - which is positive - it's one of those weird kind of injuries. But he is making progress and that's what you're going on, that's what the doctors have told us. (Chiefs trainer) Rick's (Burkholder) working with him and going about business with him there on the rehab part."

This is Week 16 so if Houston doesn't play this week he has one more before the end of the season. I'm sure the Chiefs would like to get Houston some work before the playoffs if at all possible. But if not, as long as he's back for the postseason ... if the Chiefs make it.
