The Kansas City Chiefs are sending five players to Hawaii. The 2016 NFL Pro Bowl roster was revealed and there were five Chiefs players on the list. They're not doing the AFC vs. NFC game this year so the actual teams haven't been assembled yet.
Your 2016 Pro Bowl Chiefs (full list here):
TE Travis Kelce
LB Justin Houston
LB Tamba Hali
CB Marcus Peters
S Eric Berry
This is the fifth nomination for Tamba, fourth nomination for Berry and Houston and first timers Kelce and Peters.
What a start for Peters in his rookie year to be named to the Pro Bowl. His aggressiveness has led to seven interceptions this year. And what a return for Berry after missing the end of last season with his cancer diagnosis. Is there a better story in sports? He'll have a shot at the NFL's Man of the Year award as well as comeback player of the year.
The Chiefs also send their two pass rushers - Hali and Houston - back to the Pro Bowl. Tamba in particular has stood out this year with game-changing plays. Houston was having a solid year (despite only 7.5 sacks) before his injury which could sideline him for the rest of the regular season.
Snubs? Derrick Johnson is one. I'm really surprised he didn't make it it seems he's been as good as ever. He would be a strong candidate for comeback player of the year in most years but he may not even be the best candidate on his own team. Still, it's been a great season - and a contract season - for DJ.
