The Ravens caught the Chiefs sleeping and hit a 48-yard Hail Mary

Knock it down. That's all the Kansas City Chiefs had to do here.

The Ravens lined up for a Hail Mary in the final seconds of the first half. They were 48 yards out and were trailing the Chiefs 24-7. Jimmy Clausen lined up and waited for the pass and as he was about to get hit he launched one up in the air.

What they tell you in these situations is BAT THE BALL DOWN. Notice that the Chiefs do NOT bat the ball down.

There are a few players at fault here. Every one of them standing there could have challenged the ball and tried to bat it down. Someone else could have found the right angle to tackle Kamar Aiken, who caught the ball. This is a veteran secondary who screwed up on this one. Credit the Ravens for making the play.
