The Ravens liked Chiefs CB Marcus Peters coming out of the draft

Some of the mock drafts before the 2015 NFL Draft has the Baltimore Ravens selecting CB Marcus Peters in the first round. Peters instead went to the Kansas City Chiefs, eight spots ahead of the Ravens.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh was asked about Peters, their interest in him and how he's playing now.

"I had many conversations with him, even right up to the [Draft], almost to the Draft day," Harbaugh said, via quotes from the Ravens. "We felt like he was a good person, and he was very motivated, and that he would be a good player and a good teammate.

"As far as the football part of it, he's moving well. He's a good change-of-direction guy at the top of the break, and he has really good ball skills. Those are the things that are paying off for him right now. There's a lot that he has to learn, I'm sure, as far as the nuances of playing the position, but he has done a very good job."

Peters does seem like he would've been a good Raven -- good, aggressive defensive player at a premium position. That's the type of pick they have made in the past so I wasn't surprised when I saw his name attached to the Ravens. Baltimore GM Ozzie Newsome has been so good in his career that I consider it a good thing when the Chiefs and Ravens have interest in the same player.
