Chiefs add a practice squad player with offensive line injuries

The NFL's Monday transaction report notes the Kansas City Chiefs have signed C Daniel Munyer to the practice squad (first reported by Chiefs Digest). That name should sound familiar as Munyer spent the offseason and the first few weeks of the season with the Chiefs after signing as a rookie free agent out of Colorado after the draft.

The move is notable because of the Chiefs offensive line issues. Starting C Mitch Morse is out with a concussion and we don't know whether he will be available next week in Oakland or not. Additionally, LT Eric Fisher (neck / head) and LG Jeff Allen (ankle) left last Sunday's game with injuries and we're not sure of their status for Week 13. The Chiefs replaced Fisher with Donald Stephenson and Allen with Zach Fulton. Once Morse went out, Fulton moved to center and Allen came back into the game at guard.

The Chiefs have some practice squad options for next week's game, including offensive linemen Jarrod Pughsley, Michael Liedtke, Laurence Gibson and now Munyer. Of those, Pughsley seems like the best bet because he was seemingly close to making the 53-man roster before the season. He offers versatility at both guard and tackle.
