The Kansas City Chiefs are underdogs heading into their Week 10 game against the Denver Broncos. The latest set of NFL odds has the 7-1 Broncos as a 7-point favorite over the Chiefs, who are 3-5 on the season.
The upside for KC here is that they're coming off a bye week. We know Andy Reid has been pretty good off of the bye throughout his career, although he has lost to Denver after the bye before.
The Chiefs have never beaten the Peyton Manning-led Broncos. Their Week 2 matchup in KC earlier this season was by far their best shot to do it but a fluky ending lost the game for the Chiefs.
Denver's defense is outstanding, despite what their own fans say. This will be the best defense the Chiefs face all year. Their offense, however, is human. Manning is no longer throwing for 350 yards and four touchdowns each week. He has nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions this season. Alex Smith has a better QB rating than he does.
Because this game is on the road and the Broncos defense has been so good, it's awfully difficult to pick the Chiefs in this game. However, the Broncos offense has been playing poorly enough that this game will probably be close, like other Chiefs-Broncos games have been.
