Arrowheadlines: Kansas City Chiefs News 11/9

Good morning! It was a bye week for the press, too. A light day of Kansas City Chiefs news to kick off the week. Enjoy.

Second-half season prediction: Expect Chiefs to finish 7-9 from ESPN

The Kansas City Chiefs could still reach my season-opening prediction of 9-7. But after their 3-5 first half, it's going to be difficult for them.

So, I've revised my final prediction. Here's a game-by-game look at how I see the second half going for the Chiefs.

Chiefs' Marcus Peters, former Wildcat Tyler Lockett among top 20 rookies at midway point of NFL season from The Topeka Capital-Journal

Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters has also made a huge impact on the NFL this season, grabbing three interceptions (including one that was returned for a touchdown) and deflecting 11 passes through eight games. He seems to have cooled off after a fast start that saw him record an interception in each of his first two games — he hasn't recorded an interception since Oct. 18 against the Vikings — but he's going to be an important part of the Chiefs' defensive prospects going forward after this week's bye. Right now, he's in my top 10, but if he keeps playing the way he's shown he's capable of playing, he'll be in top three territory.

Peyton Manning 3 yards away from breaking Brett Favre's record from The Denver Post

Manning is three yards shy of breaking the record. He is on pace to become the NFL's all-time leading passer during the first offensive drive of the Broncos' home game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

Ex-Mizzou, now Chiefs players silent on university's controversy from KCTV5

Maclin and Daniel were among several Chiefs players signing autographs for hundreds of fans at an Overland Park convention.

But, while they were happy to accommodate the fans, neither player wanted to discuss the turmoil unfolding in Columbia.

"I haven't seen a lot about it and I don't want to comment until I know what's going on.," Daniel said.

"I know a lot about it, but I'm not commenting on it," Maclin stated.

Monday NFL preview: Steelers, Patriots, Packers facing injury concerns from ESPN

Andy Reid's teams are 14-2 in the game after a bye during his head coaching career. Reid, as he always does, gave the Chiefs all week off after the Week 8 win over the Lions. The Chiefs are back to work this week, and Reid's sterling post-bye record gets a challenge on Sunday when Kansas City is at the 7-1 Broncos. -- Adam Teicher

Fantasy Football Week 9 recap: Big Ben down again from CBS Sports

Peyton Manning did not have the return to Indianapolis he or Fantasy owners were hoping for in Denver's first loss of the season. He passed for 281 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for 19 Fantasy points, and he's now gone five games in a row with fewer than 20 points. He has the chance to bounce back in Week 10 against the Chiefs, but the turnovers are killing him with 13 interceptions on the year. He does have a good matchup against Kansas City, and his best game of the season was against the Chiefs in Week 2 with 26 Fantasy points. I'd give Manning another chance as a starter in Week 10.
