NFL odds Week 13: Chiefs are 3-point road favorites over Raiders

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

The Week 13 NFL odds are out and the Kansas City Chiefs are 3-point favorites on the road in Oakland. I'm slightly surprised that the Chiefs are favored in the game because you don't see the road team favored all that often in a situation where the records are this close. (The 9-2 Broncos are 3-point favorites in San Diego over the 3-8 Chargers, for example)

The 6-5 Chiefs are a game ahead of the 5-6 Raiders in the AFC playoff picture so this is a pretty important game for both teams. A win by the Chiefs would further solidify their spot in the AFC Wild Card standings while a loss would muddy things up quite a bit as there are a number of 6-5 teams in the playoff picture. The Chiefs need the win in order to secure another tiebreaker over an AFC contender.

The Chiefs haven't played the Raiders yet so I'm anxious to see what they're all about. They are much better this year than they have been in years past. Even last year's Raiders team - a not very good one - was able to beat the Chiefs in Oakland, which really hurt Kansas City's playoff chances at the time.
