Chiefs' Andy Reid congratulates the world champion Royals

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

I was hoping I would get to write a post like this one day.

Here is KC Chiefs coach Andy Reid at his Monday presser congratulating the world champion Kansas City Royals.

"Congratulations goes out to the Royals, man," Reid said. "Phenomenal. You're talking about the world champions. That's an unbelievable feat.

"The skipper Ned Yost, the great job he did bringing that thing together. The Glass family for really putting that whole thing together. Dayton Moore, for bringing in all those players. What a great tribute. Showed great grit. The last couple innings putting everything together, pretty impressive."

Reid said that he would not be attending the Royals parade on Tuesday but that he would be watching it.

There's also been some talk about which schools are giving kids the day off on Tuesday to attend the parade. What would Reid do if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl? "I think we give everyone the day off," Reid said.
