Football is king. Unless your baseball team is winning the World Series.
The Kansas City Chiefs always have great TV ratings in Kansas City but it's the Royals championship TV numbers that are really impressive.
Local ratings: championship version: Chiefs 28.6 rating/56.3 share. Royals estimated 60.5 rating, 80.4 share. 67.8 rt/89.5 share at 11:30.

A rating is the the percentage of all the TV households that were tuned into the game. A share is the percentage of all the TVs in use at the time that were tuned into the game. That means that at 11:30 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) last night, 90 percent of the TVs on in Kansas City were tuned to the Royals game. More than half of them in use watched the Chiefs game earlier in the day.
Considering the Chiefs were on at 8:30 a.m. (Arrowhead Time), that's not a bad rating for them.
In other words, we all watched sports yesterday, and we all had a pretty good time.
